"Tips & facts Well corrosion is an electronic phenomenon: running water causes a voltage difference in a system.
When the faucet is open, the flowing water creates an electrical connection between the faucet and the sewer line.
A very small electric current flows between these parts.
As a result of this electric current, metal atoms can be released and dissolved in the water.
Pitting corrosion occurs in all types of faucets.
The zinc in the brass alloy is extracted from inside the brass.
This makes it possible for holes to appear in the spout in the longer term.
The spouts of designer faucets are refined and therefore the possibility exists, compared to other brands, that pitting corrosion is more likely to be visible.
However, pitting corrosion is quickly and easily solved by attaching a ground wire to the mounting wire end at the bottom of the faucet body and to a fully (up to the meter box) copper grounded water pipe.
This allows the electrical voltage to be dissipated through the ground wire.
The same and better connection is also possible directly from a grounded outlet.
This virtually eliminates the possibility of pitting corrosion.
Please note, however, that if your situation is not corrected (grounding the faucet), the possibility exists that after some time the problem mentioned above may recur.
