"Faucet tips It may happen that the perlator of your Franke Mondial boiling water faucet needs to be replaced.
Here we explain how to replace it and what you may encounter and what to do then.
If the perlator needs to be removed from the spout, it is wise to first give a few taps against the bottom of the perlator. This will startle the perlator and make it easier to remove.
Then make sure that all the holes on the edge of the perlator are clean. After this you put the perlator key in the holes and make sure it is straight and all the teeth are in the holes.
Now you can replace the perlator incl. sleeve or just the loose screen.
It sometimes happens that the gray plastic part, which should remain in the spout, also comes along with the unscrewing.
This can usually be removed by holding the gray plastic in your hand and then tapping the top (visible part) of the perlator with a hammer.
You can also put it in cleaning vinegar and then rinse it or put it in boiling water for a while to give it a temperature shock.
After this, hold the plastic firmly by hand or carefully with water pump pliers and then use the wrench to unscrew the top.
Now you can remove the perlator from the sleeve and replace it.
If the plastic is really stuck and broken you will unfortunately need a new spout, so advice is to carefully disassemble it according to the above steps.
